The painting (I think) makes much more sense after you read her dark little tale.
The photo quality is horrendous due to time constraints (and by time constraints I mean I was lazy and painted it at the last minute and really only had time to dry the oils and take quick shots in my living room before flying to Las Vegas). I tried to adjust it as best I could in photoshop.

It wasn't intentional. Others have seen the face in the background as well. It must have been my subconscious.
